BIOGRAPHY
BILL BOWLING is a writer, artist, teacher with a
background in copywriting, and is returning to his love of all things literary
with more creative writing projects. His initial publication is a book of
poetry entitled Perturbance: Flash
Journal, The Sevenlings. Look for a premier novel in the very near future.
Other nonfiction projects are also in different stages of development.
Bill was born in Eastern Kentucky in the Appalachian plateau region close to Virginia and West Virginia. The woods, the river, the swinging bridge, the railroad tracks, the train tunnels and abandoned coal mines were all elements of a wide ranging playground for a growing boy. It's where the love of nature and the love of writing were born and nurtured. Nature is the greatest teacher, and the greatest resource for a budding writer.
Along the way, he developed myriad interests in the area of arts, crafts, jewelry-making, painting, and sculpture; the creative arts are a passion. He has been a teacher, trainer and has racked up many other work experiences in the effort to earn the daily bread. All of it was precious currency for the development of method and voice. He is thankful for this deep immersion in life; there is no greater gift for a writer.
He has many other interests that keep him busy and engaged. He has a great love for the outdoors, and likes to hike and see the scenery close-up; he is also a fan of geocaching. He has a love of music, writes songs, plays guitar, and is learning to play a didgeridoo.
He occasionally stops to take a nap, and spend precious time with friends and family.
